Looking for options to install manual gauges and get rid of idiot lights. can't seem to find anyone willing to do this work on a Comanche. They say the wiring is a serious problem.

All you need to do is find an 87-90 full gauge cluster and then swap the temp and oil pressure senders if your truck is Renix. I think the same applies for HO.

Typically they use the same wire.  The idiot light is an on/off switch inside the sensor on the engine and the dash has a light bulb.  The gauge sender just varies resistance and the gauge reacts to that.

 

Same plug in the cluster and same connector on the engine.
