chicofuentes0224
Any thing I should look for. It does it even in slippery conditions(snow) when I start off from a light or stop sign, then goes away. All tires are the same size. Could the allignment or balance of the tires be off causing this to happen. I also get a wobble at about 40 MPH. Trackbar and front u-joints have been replaced. CWLONGSHOT
Bound up how? Like it don't move and you have to shift back into2WD to go anywhere? Likely someone swapped out the axle and its a diff Ratio... CW
chicofuentes0224
no, it moves just makes a loud noise, thump, I can't explain it right .I just forgot what it does exactly but dang it doesn't sound good.
Pete M
Likely someone swapped out the axle and its a diff Ratio... CW Probably not. Mismatched axle ratios would cause horrible issues and likely make the truck un-drivable. If it's doing the same thing in the snow, my guess is that it's not "binding" in the normal driveline sense. What's the condition of your rear leaf springs? Does the rear of your truck dip low when you accelerate? Does it happen at all in 2wd?
chicofuentes0224
Pete, thge rear leafs suck . If I put any weight in the back the truck sags to the ground
Pete M
It's possible that they are so bad that they are allowing the axle to rotate up and causing the rear u-joint to bind. Can't say for sure, but it's a possibility.
CWLONGSHOT
Pete, That's why I asked if it would move at all or it needed to be shifted back to 2WD to get moving. Its going to be a weakest link kinda thing. SOMETHING has to give if it moves. OK, now I am more leaning to a badly stretched chain and or worn chain sprocket's... chicofuentes0224
CW, you're talking about the chain in the transfer case right? How would I check that?
