bhorocks
My gawd... I think i will have to destroy some natural form of life today..... after trying to replace my dang door locks for two hours the old plastic clips only one survived.. I am not a happy person right now about that.... almost to the point I would rather buy two doors and hang them and paint.. this is some BS!!! Yeah, rub it in. But it gets hot here too - wish it were now. Some of the clips I have from the older XJ's (86 and below) were metal. Bend buy don't break. Seriously, if you need some, let me know........

joshmillslane
The same thing happened to me...mine were all rotten and crumbled when I was unhooking them, so the rods ould no longer stay in the plastic holes since they came in from the bottom. My solition was to take my tiny butane torch and heat the end of the rod and bend it 180 degrees with some duckbill pliers. Once it cooled, I could put it in through the top without worrying about it falling out. So far it's been working great.
