Ole Tsula
Been noticing my oil is smelling like gas when I check the dipstick or change the oil. Asked my dad and was directed to the PCV valve. Come to find out my 1990 Comanche Pioneer 4.0 does not have one of those. If anyone is or has had the same issue, anything you could pass along would be great. Pete M
the 4.0 has a CCV system. the 2.5L has a PCV system. basically the CCV is an open line with no little valve in it like the PCV. can't imagine how either one would make the oil smell like gas though. how well does she idle? rev? does the exhaust smell like gas? how are your MPGs lookin'? fiatslug87
You should check compression in the cylinders followed by a leak down test. Fuel may be getting past the rings.
