Cruise Control Actuator Wiring

Recommended Posts

OK guys, I need some help.  I'm replacing my after market cruise control actuator in my '91 Comanche with a new (used) OEM actuator. The problem is that the wiring connectors aren't the same.  They both have 4 pins, but a different style.  I need to know the pinout for the factory actuator so I can make sure I match the connections.  I was able to test the wires from the actuator to the  control module (which had this great identification label on it). Looking at the after market actuator connector, from left to right.  I think the left one is pin 4.

4 - BLK/WHT to 11 - VAS VALVE

3 - YEL/BLK to 12 - VENT VALVE

2 - WHT/RED to 20 - VALVE POWER

1 - YEL/BLK to 12 - VENT VALVE.  This is the same as pin 3.

All of the wiring looks to be original so the color codes should be correct.  I just need a picture of an OEM connector showing the wires or a pin out.

Also, do you think I need to replace the control module?  The problem was a mechanical issue with the throttle control cable attachment so everything should still work.  Maybe??

Thanks

Wait. Yours is a 91?
Your MJ should already have the wiring and you need the vacuum canister, stalk and vac hose from my understanding of the HO years. Weird that someone would go out of their way to add an aftermarket unit.

I never did get this working.  My truck does have the original wiring, but the actuator connector was cut off and replaced.  Now I don't know the correct pins to put it back. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 91 cruise control system?

Might be something useful in here?

I’m kinda suspecting I got some moisture frozen somewhere on mine. Everything tested fine so I was a little stumped but since it stopped freezing overnight a few weeks ago it hasn’t acted up at all.
