Dropped a piece of hardware in the cowl and I'm wondering where it could have gone

So I was reinstalling my wiper transmission and motor when I dropped the little clip nut that the 10m bolt goes into. Seen in this picture.

 

 

It sounded like it went all the way to the passenger side of the cavity in there. I am not having any luck fishing it out with a magnet. I'm hoping it didn't somehow hop and go into the HVAC system.

 

I'm not clear on the construction of the body panels. If I remove the plastic piece up in the passenger wheel well is there a chance it will fall out of there?

these are the drain holes on the drivers side.  you might need to pull the fender to find it if it's trapped.
