Lenard
Does any body have ballpark estimate on what it would cost to have a new clutch put in? mine is starting to slip and seeing as how it's my only truck to drive i don't want it to strand me, it's got 182,000 miles and i'm pretty sure it's the original clutch, does it sound about right to be going out now? thank in advance. Eagle
To have a 4WD clutch replaced at a shop? Using quality parts, not junk? Ball park, between $600 and $800 182,000 miles on the original clutch? Yeah, you're living on borrowed time. The original clutch on my '88 XJ 4.0L went 204,000 miles, but nobody makes clutches last as long as I do.

DrThunder
i did mine for about 170ish but that included the slave cylinder. if you're going to do the clutch it is worth the extra money to do the slave cylinder, it is internal and is bound to go!!! just my 2 cents

Eagle
$270 labor to replace the clutch in a 4x4 is a bargain.
BLHTAZ
I just had mine done last week. It cost me about $450 parts & labor. I bought the clutch kit on eBay ($140), the slave at the dealership ($93) (where I work), because the slave that came with the kit from eBay was wrong, and I had the rear main and oil pan gasket changed while he was in there. I have the knowledge and ability to do this work myself...just no where to do it so I had to pay, but got a real good deal.
