StevenH Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I am doing a leaf spring conversion and plan on using the lower control arm frame bracket. I tried an XJ leaf and the center pin location seems to be a good bit off, a CJ7 front leaf looks like it would be a perfect match but I want a longer spring than the CJ spring. Any ideas? I plan on front shackles and they will mount to the bumper which will be directly in front of the factory crossmember. Maybe I should ditch the idea of using the LCA bracket and make a new bracket for the spring?
DirtyComanche Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 New brackets would probably be more ideal. However, not running front leafs would work even better... I used waggy fronts. They worked. It was tall.
Suuperman Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Stock 7 leaf waggy front springs OR YJ 4" front lift springs. Either wil work and get you about 6-7" of lift. http://www.floridajeepers.net/viewtopic ... t=comanche If this link doesn't work I think I can dig up the pics somewhere else and post them. Those are 35X15 TSL's.
