crankshaft journal?

a guy at my work is looking for a 2.8L with large journals to convert it to a 3.1L, not really sure if the one in my manche has it, haven't found anything about it so i don't think it does. would you be able to convert the 2.8L out the 86' manche to a 3.1L? if so i can make a deal with him to get a 93' 3.4L with the harness and computer for cheap. if not my dad was telling me about getting the 3.4L brand new with the harness and computer for 1200$.

Late '86 is when the large journal 2.8L came out. It's also internally balanced, so looking at the harmonic balancer (it'll be smooth all around and not have a lump on one side) should tell you.

well i checked the harmonic balancer and i didn't see a lump. is there another way to find out if it's a late 86'?
