Driveshaft

Recommended Posts

I'm out in sunny Arizona. If your willing to let it go for a reasonable price and shipping isn't crazy maybe we can work something out.

The good thing about being in Arizona is no rust, the bad is rubber doesn't like the heat. The rubber sleeve in my driveshaft is toast.

I would be tempted to just cut that outer sleeve/rubber off and see if it really affects the driveline that much.  I have spoken to some driveline experts, and when a driveshaft gets to around 45" long, that is when harmonics and weird driveline vibes may become noticeable.  As long as the rest of the driveshaft is OK, I would try that first.

The sleeve is on the inside of the shaft. Not something you could cut off. I just bought this truck a month ago and have been chasing this high speed vibration problem. Vibration starts at about 60mph and smooths out about 70mph. No problems below 60. Put a dial gauge on the drive drive $#!& and it varies about 30 tho. Already did a bunch of work on the front end now working my way back.
