2.5 liter Serpentine Belt size

Does anyone know the length of the serpentine belt for my 1988 2.5 liter? I’m having trouble getting the replacement one I bought to fit. Seems to be too small.

Does yours have AC or not? I can get you a part number to cross reference.

Does yours tension via the power steering pump?  If yes, there are four bolts you have to loosen to get the pump to move.  Even with all of them loose, it can tend to still be "stuck" in it's original position.  If you're sure you've got them all loose (and have slack on the adjuster on the backside, give the pump a firm bump toward the engine with a smack.....it might just need that little bit of movement to be able to slip the new (unstretched) belt on.

Yes it does tension via the power sterring pump. I do have them all loosened and the adjuster backed way off. I'll give it a good smack later tonight and let you know. Thanks for all the help!

Oh yeah I forgot to throw in a part number. I’ll get it but something that can happen, if you route the belt the wrong way, there will be a lot of slack. It’s one of those trial and error things.
