I am replacing a 10/5 rear mount original with a crown replacement and noticed that the original has a center pin that appears to be welded or pressed in.  The crown has the holes but no pin.  Is that pin important and how to remove it if I need to transfer it to the new part.

New part installed fits and works like a charm.  Old mounts rubber was very spongy causing a bit of drive train flutter.

It's been too long since I did mine to remember the details so I can't answer your pin question.  But I absolutely agree with the reduction of drive train flutter.  It was a masive improvement in reduced vibration while moving off in first gear or just getting on and off throttle.
