Will the Aries 1043 Brush Guard fit on an 89 Manche?

From what I've read the Cherokee and manche are the same from the cab forward, but Advanced Auto Parts (who has this on sale right now) said it won't fit an 89 Comanche with 4.0L I wanted to ask if anyone went ahead and put one on before me.

According to Aries Website it fits the '89 Cherokee except Limited. The don't show ANY grille guards fitting the Comanche, but I don't think there are any differences.

I suspect you have a computer jockey that doesn't know cars making that determination.

Looks like it mounts to the same spot as the bumper in which case, it should bolt right up to the MJ.  I find most autoparts stores have no idea what fits what, especially between MJs and XJs, I agree with BeatCJ, I'm guessing they just didn't test with an MJ or have no idea how similar they are.  You should have no issue fitting that to your truck.

The limited XJ may have had another accessory on the front that caused it not to work.

That was my guess. Curious what it might have been.

The only things I can think of would be factory fog lights or those black protrusions on the front of the bumper, either way those could easily be removed and there are holes on this guard to mount lights so the fogs could have gone there.
