Ignition Issues

I have an 86 MJ 2.8 v6. The car wants to start without the key in the ignition. I have replace battery cables and starter relay on the passenger side of the engine compartment with the same issue. What should my next route to fix this issue?

inspect the ignition switch at the column, it is about halfway down the column and should have 2 plugs on it, suspect you have a melted plug, wire there,

It could also be a stuck starter solenoid.
