Odd plug on driver side harness

Does anyone know what this would have connected to?  I'm going to cut it and tuck the wires in the harness since it doesn't appear to be causing me any issues.  Maybe it is a 97+ harness that someone put in and this connected to the computer that normally resides here on an HO??
