Bobby anderton
Changing BA10/5 to AX15 old tranfer case is amc 231. Found an AX15 with 231j transfer case. My question is can I bolt up the AX15 with 231j and it work. Going on a 1988 Jeep Comanche.
87MJTIM
Should be plug-n-play. Use the tcase from the AX15. The tcase from the BA is 21 spline. The tcase from the AX is 23 splines. Get the AX15 crossmember and trans mount. The AX internal or external slave cylinder? You may need to swap at least the pressure plate. What year is the AX15 from? The input shaft tip is larger on later years AX15. You will need a new pilot bushing (74 CJ5 304 cu in). I am sure there is more.
Eagle
Yes. If you got the transmission and transfer case together, it will bolt right up to your engine. Depending on year, you may need to use a different pilot bearing in the end of the crankshaft.
