knever3 Posted April 20, 2020 Share Posted April 20, 2020 My truck starts and idles fairly well, but the idle goes up and down about 200rpm at times. It is way more noticeable in the winter then it is when it's warm. It is very annoying running outside when I can hear the idle go up and down the whole time the remote start is running. I have check the TPS voltage and I cannot get the 17% like the FSM recommends. I have went through the engine harness and modified all the grounds and did the cruiser tips that I can recall. The TPS is new and I have a wideband O2 sensor. What should I be doing to determine why the idle fluctuates? This is my measurement of the static voltage on the TPS and as far as I can adjust it I cannot get the results mention Cruisers tips. I have a Snap-On scanner for the renix oh, but I don't know if it's coolant temperature or IAC problem or some sort. I can wiggle the harness and the ground is good for the sensors and the idle does not change I checked the bolts for my header and intake and they are all tight with no apparent leak. The vacuum seems to be normal, but I'm sure it will fluctuate with the idle as well. I have a good friend that I would like to take the truck to to diagnose it, but in this case it is not possible at this time obviously. What else can I check until then? knever3 Posted April 22, 2020 Author Share Posted April 22, 2020 I retested and took a look around again and noticed there is enough adjustment and the TPS sensor itself, but the janky Hesco adapter kit renix sensor is the problem. The roll pin used for moving the TPS arm simply isn't positioned exactly correctly.It looks like I will need to add a small spacer or a cover over the roll pan to make it slightly larger to read the proper voltage.Other than that, what else should I look for regarding the idle?Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
