Pledger88
hello, I just picked up a 89 mj 2wd with a fresh rebuilt 2.5l. I bought it from a friend but it won't start, i get air, fuel and spark but it don't even try to fire. I've checked timing and its correct. Need some guidance on where to go from here. Dzimm
Your positive timing is correct? If it's 180* out it will seem like it's correct but won't be making compression. I would check your compression and double check your timing.
Pledger88
Distributer timing is correct. Piston 1 on tdc compression stroke the rotor bug points at cylinder 1 on the cap. If I set it to 180 I can hear it try to start for a second. The timing gear Mark's line up and when I set cam gear at 1 o clock it puts the crank gear at 3 o'clock and I have 20 pins between the 2 Mark's. omega_rugal
if you have spark, fuel and timing is right, something is wrong with the valve train...
