This is awesome that your doing all this. Thank you. If I remember right I got lazy as I was looking at the D44 and said “these are the exact same parts as the D35”. I can double check but I’m pretty sure most of them are
eaglescout526
Yes. A lot of the hard ware is very much the same. The drums and the shoes are different. There are are three sets of shoes left for the D44

I can see possibly the rebuild kits being same. Chrysler shows them to be the same part number. The only different part numbers I noticed are the shoes and the drums. Which reminds me. I need to get back on this.

One of the first things I looked for when I replaced my pedal pads. That being said, I can almost swear the forklift at work might have a foot pad similar as it has the same brake release handle as our trucks. eaglescout526
I can post the numbers from the catalogue for each axle when I can.
eaglescout526
Oh well that’s a different animal. The SJ shows completely different backing plates numbers along with hardware. I’d imagine that the SJ would need to be more beefy to stop that tank. But I can’t give you any true part number comparisons between the SJ and MJ because Chrysler just did the same thing AMC was doing with the SJ and kept part numbers for it the exact same and very rarely superseded any of them. So as for that parking strut, it comes in a package on the SJ and separate on the MJ. You could always take an MJ and SJ hardware and compare them side by side to see just how close they are

It appears that everything almost is different. Thank you still. No problem at all. I’ll still post the part numbers for the D35 and 44 on where hey are the same. eaglescout526
I’ll do some digging. The more vehicles we have to source for brake parts the better.
eaglescout526
Oh hell. So interesting discovery. It wasn’t until 1991 when Chrysler changed a lot of part numbers over to them. The AMC years for YJ MJ XJ D35 hard ware is interchangeable. 1991 and up became their own animals and will interchange with themselves. Thanks saveevryjp for pointing something like that out.
