btipsword1
I'm in the process of SOA and am running an 8.25 rear end. I have weld on shock mounts for the axle, seems pretty straight forward.. What is the reasoning for everyone wanting to relocate the upper factory shock mount? It looks to me like I could just weld the new ones on the backside of the axle and both shocks to the factory upper mounts without any issues.. Just curious what the reasoning for everyone moving them is.. ?
Pete M
I ran shocks mounted to the stock uppers for years. eventually swapped them for some angled-inboard mounts out of... boredom I guess. I know the stock mounts are known to rust and snap off sometimes.
