Tranny Cooler Line Meets Radiator

Alright, the fitting where my tranny cooler line meets the radiator in the front left of the engine compartment fell off from my serpentine belt snapping and hitting it. I put it back on, but removed 2 o rings and a strange white plastic thing from the inside. It always leaked a little befor, and i couldnt get it back on with the O rings, after lubricating it with a LOT of tranny fluid. I guess my question is, were those O rings and the white plastic thing supposed to be their? It seems fine now without any of it, and snapped right into place. THanks in advance =P

Uh, probably. Those are the POS quick connects they use for the tranny cooler lines. Which happened to be a major deciding factor in selling my XJ...

they sell the plastic piece and o ring kits for like $5. i put one on 1992 XJ that was leaking after i unhooked it to replace the radiator.
