AZJeff Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Rock Auto shows rear view mirror glass for the door mirrors that comes in a plastic frame. This frame presumably connects to the power mirror gimbal, but the shop manual does not show how to separate the mirror glass from the gimbal. does anyone know how to separate the glass and its plastic mounting plate from the rest of the mirror?
Eagle Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 The replacement mirror glass inserts I've bought from friends who run a glass shop are glass only. The plastic "frame" stays in the mirror and the new glass is installed with mastic.
GrizzzzBear Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 There are a number of places to get the Mirror Glass. Local Glass Shops are good, and are able to do the Install with some Warranty. I have gotten a few of them already.
