Joefox Posted July 12, 2018 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Hey guys, Just bought my first Jeep. Its an 89 comanche with the 4.0 5 speed manual. My question is will an xj motor be a direct swap. 87MJTIM Posted July 12, 2018 Share Posted July 12, 2018 What year is the XJ? Yours is (probably) a Renix engine. 91+ XJs have HO engines. The engines will swap over, but you will/may need to swap all the electronics from the XJ. Fill in your profile so others know what you have.
