88whitemanche
What’s up fellas what techniques you guys use to swap the o-ring out? Is it just that simple? Pull whole assembly out replace o-ring and reinstall?
DesertRat1991
Is there a dipstick o-ring on the 2.5? My 4.0 didn't have one. The tube was just press fit into the hole. That said, when it started leaking I pulled the tube and sealed that junction with a bead of hi-temp RTV silicone. Problem solved.

I had to look it up. There's no o-ring shown for either engine on the dipstick tube, but some of the later model dipsticks had an o-ring just below the handle. I use a later model dipstick and there's an o-ring on it.
ParadiseMJ
My 88 has a 94 AW4 in it. When I pulled the dipstick off, there was an o-ring that was falling apart, dry and funky...so when I put it back together I picked up a new o-ring, put some anti-seize on it, no sweat. Find O-rings by the single at ACE or by the random pack at any parts store with a HELP! section.
