bigmistake Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I've got a '91 that has some issues with the parking brake. The brakes work fine, but the light in the dash won't come on when the brakes are active. When I turn the truck on, the dash light shows up, so I know the bulb isn't out. The handle to release the parking brake is also missing - all that remains is a frayed looking wire. Pulling the wire releases the brake, no problem. Any thoughts on replacing the handle? I'm guessing find a handle in the JY and rig it on there... I haven't been able to find an assembly to replace it with. Thanks for any input! Glad to finally be a Comanche owner!

There is a switch on the brake pedal assembly itself Take the kick panel off you'll find a single wire and connector Switch completes a ground circuit
bigmistake Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 Thanks! Looks like that is what it is. There is a little tab that looks like it is bent out of shape. When I push it down, the light comes on. Will see what I can do to get it connecting again.
