AMC86Kid
I was wondering if anyone could shoot me a link or give me some advise on how to fix the cracked door hinges. I am struggling on repositioning it back to the vehicle so that the door will fully close in the correct position. Are there any tips on how to get it mounted in the right position? cody4359
is that the correct hinge? have you messed with shimming the door?Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
DirtyComanche
I guess that's kinda the nuclear option for repairing a crack around the hinge. I'd probably put the door in the right place with plastic wedges/tape/wood shims, then see where the hinge is sitting. Make sure the latch/striker is rigged right and not worn out before doing this. You're going to need a shim between the hinge and that repair plate you've put in there, as it is now closer to the vehicle centerline than it should be. I'd probably try sticking the fender in place too before committing to anything, but I assume you're planning to just bolt that on so you can change it later. Green Mesa XJ
I knew a guy who did body work he hated replacing Cherokee doors, said the was like every day of the week production was different, every door had a lot of adjusting to get the lines correct.
