Rinzler
Hey guys, first post here. I'm rebuilding and '88 4x4 and have it basically done except for a few finishing touches. I ripped out all the old moldy carpet and padding and bed lined the floor. As I figured, when I went to put the center console back in, it sits a good half inch above where it should sit in the floor since there's no carpet now. Does anyone have any recommendations how to make it fit properly, or is having it sit above the floor not bad and just goofy looking? I've done a little bit of shopping around and can't find any aftermarket consoles that will fit either. Am I just screwed without carpet? I appreciate any help, I'm in the home stretch now and can't wait to drive this baby!
Dzimm
When I took the carpet out of my 98 XJ I ran into the same issue. I never did anything about it and honestly after about a week I didn't even notice it anymore.
Eagle
Trace the outline on the tranny tunnel and lay down a perimeter of this stuff for the console to seat against: https://www.lowes.com/pd/M-D-10-ft-Gray-Foam-Window-Weatherstrip/1096049
