1979 J10 power window question

First off thanks for adding me. Sorry if this isn’t the right place but I need a bit of direction. Had a fellow call and wants me to wire up his power window. I took a peek at it and all I saw were two wires from the motor and another wire coming into the door. The switch he has is a 3 pole chrome switch similar to what an old GM truck would have. My question is how did this system work?  I know my aftermarket window kits have 5 wire switches (2 wires from motor, 2 powers, 1 ground). Also, there isn’t a motor in the passenger side.  He told me they only came with drivers side power windows, no passenger. Anyone have any info as to how this system actually is suppose to work?

Whoever said only driver’s side fibbed. I put power windows in mine and got tired of fighting with the ladder tapes. I kept the power mirrors and went back to manual windows.

If the motor isn’t grounded well enough, it will work backwards. (Found that out on my Eagle wagon too) There’s a number of online groups for full size rigs.
