CTS broken shielded wire, recommended fix?

I have a 1988 Pioneer with a broken shielded wire going to the coolant temp sensor (CTS) any fix recommendations? The connector looks like a fuel injector plug. Thanks

Usually a shield wire is tied to ground only on one end of the circuit. Not on both ends of the circuit. This could be normal.

Got a picture.  Are you sure it's not the knock sensor.

That's the knock sensor.
