Tburercomanche
This is brought up alot but I just need to make sure before I buy this tranny. I have ba10 and I'm interested in this 97 ax15 with married transfer case. Would this be a good swap? If so is there other things I would need to get to make the set up work? 87MJTIM
There are lots of write up on here about this. I did this swap last year (I did a thread). Here is a (partial) list of the parts you will need. Get the trans cross member from the donor. The BA will not fit properly. Get the fork that is inside the bellhousing. Get the tcase shift linkage. It is positioned differently than the BA (same tcase, just positioned differently). You should change the clutch and pressure plate to a 97 model. Search RockAuto. You will need a pilot bushing. The 97 trans input shaft tip is .75" vs. the BA is .5" You will need to get a new slave cylinder. Consider buying the hydraulic kit: it includes the master/line/slave all in one. Search Rockauto. Do not get the kit for 98+. The master cyl will interfere with the brake booster. I am sure I am leaving things out. Good luck. I love the AX15. I got rid of the stupid internal slave cylinder. FrankTheDog
Correction to above, you will need a master and external slave combo out of a 94-96. 97 and up mount differently to work with the newer firewall in 97 and up.
