Intermittent Wiper Switch

Alright, here's a good one. I'm putting together a tilt steering column for my 91 and it has intermittent wipers. Should the wiper switch click for every intermittent setting? On mine, it doesn't click until the LO and HI settings for the wipers. I'm thinking the wiper switch in the column is busted, but just wanted to confirm before I put it in the truck.

Neither of mine (90 XJ or 88 MJ) click except the On/Off, and Hi/Lo...in between it just glides.  FWIW my little Nissan commuter car does the same.

^^  Same here. Normal for the GM wiper switch.

mine doesn't click either however mine only works on the top two speeds haha.
