mik666 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Hey gang so after reading the stories of AC's and R12a recharges i thought maybe id see if i could revive my AC - but damn if i can't find the low side port - anyone point me in the right direction or have a pic of it? comanche's a stock 87 4.0 2wd w/ AC setup (of course!) thx Mike
Strokermjcomanche Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 The low side port is right on the a/c compressor .
HOrnbrod Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 The low side port is right on the a/c compressor . The LOW side service port is the larger tubing; the HI side is the smaller.
mik666 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 Ha i didn't realize i need to add an adapter that was right in the kit - what a dumbass! hahaha thx guys!!
mik666 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 Ok so did you guys have to mess around with the adapter /add a elbow sort of deal - - i notice that when to put the adapter on the low side port from the R12a kit it effectively makes it so the spring adapter/coupler hose won't fit as the high side port is too close to the adapter part thx! mike
HOrnbrod Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I saw a procedure on one of the Jeep forums where it showed that on the older systems, you have to do a little grinding with a Dremel tool on the HI side fitting for clearance. No problem for the 91's and up as the plumbing is laid out differently.
