Reduxr
Hey guys, I am fairly new to Comanches. I have always really liked them but I'm not very knowledgeable about them so I figured I'd ask here. I got an 86 with the 2.8L V6. It runs well, except at startup. I am pretty sure it is because I don't have the carburetor heater insulator or whatever it is that was used as a spacer. It runs decent after its warmed up, but terribly before then. Does anyone know where i can get one, or any way to adjust so that the lack of it isn't a problem? 48MJ
I don't know where you could get one. They told me it was for cold climate operation and not needed here in Oregon where I live, don't know about Maine. Your carb might be the problem, they are a lot of the problems with the 2.8. They are a lean burn carb (electronic control 2 stage 2 barrel). Make sure the choke is set right. Just throwing out ideas, hope some of it helps. I drove one of these for about 15 years and might have a decent carb laying around.

Did you even look at the links? There are plenty around if you want to pay the price. If you don't, I can sure understand not wanting to spend $$ on the 2.8. Live with it then mate.
