My 88 Jeep Comanche Eliminator

Recommended Posts

Very nice Eliminator!! I have an '88 as well, just black. Mine didn't come with the OEM bumper, just a stupid POS tube bumper. Like you, I'm keeping what I'm taking off. I have an about 3.5" lift on mine right now. That gray really makes that truck look different!!!

there WAS a OEM tube rear bumper.... not sure what yours looks like, but it is a rare option.

I had some time to go out to the OHV place in my town I live in and try to get some flex with my sway bar disconnected.

It feels pretty awesome to drive the jeep around with out the sway bar being connected. Even though my jeep is a 2wd i notices that i had little more traction then normal.

One modification that I have done is change my closed cooling system to an open cooling system out of a 96 XJ. I also wanted to keep my heater and air conditioner so I also put in a heater control valve out of the same year XJ. The radiator that I used was a aluminum and plastic Spectra Premium CU1193 brand new from Amazon for pretty cheap. I have no complaints about it but i do want to add better electric fans in the future.

Here is the heater control valve that I put in. the heater and air conditioning works amazing.

The overflow bottle I pulled from a pick and pull and is temporarily held in my bungee cords. (I plan on making a better braket to hold it) this has worked for now.

Here is the thermostat cover I put on so that I can run another thermostat gage inside so that I can get another reading on how hot the jeep gets.

I put an Auto meter Temp gage on the bottom of the dash. This temp gage is reading right where the thermostat is which I like because i can get to readings on how hot the jeep gets.
