wiring harness question

hi, just wondering if the 1988 4.0 wiring harness and a harness from a 86 4.0 would be the same. The previous owner hacked up the harnesses on my 88 and I'm getting tired trying to fix his mess, there is a 86 being parted out semi close to me and i would like to get the harnesses if i can use them

No such thing as a 4.0 in 86 . Unless it's been swapped in , so no .

Check the 10th digit in the donor vehicle's vIN. Should be H, J, K or L
