big66440
I'm going to be replacing my heater core soon together with my AC evaporator, expansion valve and drier/ accumulator, I won't be able to install the rest of my system ( hoses, condenser and compressor) for about 1 1/2 to 2 months . Will my new A/C parts be ruined by the time I finish the rest of my system? I'm planning on capping off the new parts for the AC as soon as they get installed to keep moisture and debris out of there, thank you. BTW this truck is my daily driver and the A/C system that is in the truck right now is in really bad shape which is why I'm overhauling it. sloride
Install your evaporator and heater core per the norm, but leave the tube fitting caps that come with those parts out of the box, don't hook up your old lines and you should be fine. Minuit
If you install the accumulator now you'll need to install a new one when you open the system up again. It acts as a filter for the refrigerant and won't work after the system is opened once. If you're not going to be using the A/C system until you get your other parts, hold off on the accumulator.
