Angry_bucktooth Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I've seen some post talk about Chevy drop shackles and spacers up front. I'm looking to gain 3 inches of lift total but also level off the front. Would drop shackles give me that lift if so what about the front. I'm new to the mj world. But have owned a few zjs yj and xj.
Pete M Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 the chevy shackles give about an inch and change and are usually pared with 1.5" spacers up front.
Angry_bucktooth Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Thank you. What would be the best way to achieve a 3inch lift that is in exspensive the mj doesn't see must woods but i want a little more breath room around my 31s
Pete M Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 the above budget boost can be done cheaply and easily (the hardest part usually being dropping the front axle far enough to weasel the coils out and in). bumping up to a 3" starts to adjust the geometry of your suspension and now involves trac bars, control arms, swaybar links, shocks, brake lines, add-a-leafs and more. If price is a concern, you can't beat pucks and shackles. You can probably do 2" pucks up front and have a level truck, but that depends on how tired your leafs are. If your tires are rubbing on your control arms, switching to WJ arms will cure that.
Angry_bucktooth Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 I've already done the wj lca swap. And what's a good sight for league can push my bed down about 4 inches so they are pretty worn
Angry_bucktooth Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 What's a good website for leafs. I can push my bed down by hand about 4 inches.
