snakedoc67 Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Looking for an ECU for an manual transmission, 4.0L Renix jeep. Need to replace the one in my 87.
Crash Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 87 through 90 should work. IIRC, the late 89 and 90 give the renix a bit more "oomph". I may have a manual ECU in one of my parts heeps. I'll check soon and let you know.
Dadinator Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Is there a difference for transmission? The tranny has its own separate controller. I have one out of mine. It was originally auto. Kept it in there after the ax15 swap. No issues. Swapped it out trying diagnose stalling issue. Wasn't the problem. It's a 90. 25$ + shipping if interested.
Siopposition Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I also have one that's from a 1990 4.0 manual tho. I'll do $25 +.shipping as well if you'd like.

At first I was thinking there was a difference but was too busy with work last week to do any checking on here. Found the post I have saved this morning and it only matters if a manual is being used in an automatic: http://comancheclub.com/topic/42705-more-power-form-renix-87-and-88/?hl=ecm&do=findComment&comment=433593
cruiser54 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Auto works in manual fine. Manual equipped eCU may give stalling problems in an auto. Not huge. 89 or 90 Auto trans gives 9 more horsepower than an 87 eCU
