mikekaz1
Installed a new set of leaf springs and shackles. Now the passenger side when I drive randomly (but normally on bumps) makes a HARD clunk noise. If I'm parked and jump up and down in the bed, Nothing. If I grab the bedside and shake it, nothing. Everything's snug.... is it possible things are too snug? Anyone run into this before?
Jackrabbit41
Could your exhaust be lose? I just had this problem yesterday because I forgot to tighten nuts
mikekaz1
exhaust is solid. i have the front leaf mount and frame shackle at 100ft/lb and rear eyelet at 80ft/lb and all u bolts beyond my torque wrench capabilities. (which i think are the factory specs) but i think i may have found it.... i think my shock is maxing out. between the ~2" lift the springs gave and the extra thickness of the spring pack ~1" i think I'm just over exteding the shock. although i havent verified this. mikekaz1
Yep. Confirmed shock issue. Swapped out for a set of bilstien 5100s I had laying around and they work mint now. And holy cow are they stiff! They also gave me at least another inch of lift!
