NHMJXJ
... it's his first deployment. He's Army Engineers (an Electrician by trade). I want to send him care packages, but don't know what to send. Something beyond toiletries, or the standard stuff (although that will be in the box too). I've read a number of replies to topics on here and I know there are former, and active military people on CC.com. Would you be kind enough to share what would be a well received surprise that won't get him in trouble? I don't mind sending extra for his brothers/sisters either. Thanks in advance. shelbyluvv
Is he in Doha? Depending on his location will drive what is needed for care packages. Does he dip snuff? A few cans of Copenhagen will make the dippers in the unit happy!
NHMJXJ
He described it as a large base, but didn't say the name. It's address is APO AE 09366. He's a JiuJitsu and MMA freak, so I don't think he dips and I know he doesn't smoke. I'll put a few cans of Copenhagen in there anyway.
shelbyluvv
The big bases are setup pretty good with pizza places, Subway, Green Bean coffee, PX, ice cream shop, theater and pretty much anything you could need. I didn't want anything other than JP, 4wd and SUV, and 4wheel and offroad magazines. Oh and stateside chew. The stuff over there has formaldehyde in it and it is nasty. The APO address doesn't really mean much other than it is an overseas post office. By you saying it is a big base leads me to Doha or Victory. Both are setup very well. Beef jerky, candy and microwave pasta is always a game winner.

NHMJXJ
Still haven't determined where he's stationed ... even my sister (his mother) doesn't know (and now she's nervous). The only address we have is the APO. Do food items travel well?
