Need help, with lift plan

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of building a chevy 350 to swap into my '89. I'm planning on doing a ford 8.8 swap with SOA because the D35 will probably snap after the engine swap. But anyway, I was wondering if it would be a lot cheaper to just ordered individual parts and put together my own style of lift, or bite the bullet and buy acompany 6.5 inch lift. My main purpose is to mud race with it, but still be good for on road use. I'm leaning towards the 6.5 because I want to run 35's. Any help is appreciated in very new to the jeep game

Alexia has stated that his lift is geared toward street use and is truck does not got offroad.

Just order 6.5" springs instead of 5.5. Simple. I would also go CAD or long arm with 6.5.

In my sig line is a similar lift. I wheel my truck several times a month and drive it about 7,000 miles a year.

CAD is control arm drop brackets I know but is there also something called central axle disconnect? If so what does that mean? I swear I've heard that before

Its a vacuum actuated disconnect for 4wd in the passenger side of the dana 30 axle. They later completely removed it.

Thank you guys for the tips. I've looked up the lift kit he made, I'm probably going to use it. It's going to be a tad more expensive than what he listed, but it's understandable because he made it years ago.

If you end up going that route, Google the part #'s. You can find them at nearly the same price as listed in the build. A few months ago I sent him a list of links for the parts, at the original prices.. But he never updated the build list.
