Jeepjeff859
So I have spent the day trying to get the transmission in but everytime I get it into the clutch it stops and won't go all the way in. I made sure I ordered the correct bearing and made sure it fit on the input shaft, I also made sure I used the pilot tool to make sure everything was aligned Any ideas ? 1987Comanche
The splines on the trans input shaft may not be aligned with the clutch disc. See if you can index the input shaft so the splines on both line up.
teamsmith
it usually takes me a good 30 minutes of wiggling and jacking the engine up/ transmission down while turning the TC output shaft with the drive shaft to get it all to line up and slide in. I took some long all thread and made some guide pins to force the transmission to line up with the engine. It worked like a charm.
87MJTIM
I have had to lower the trans, loosen the pressure plate and realign the clutch disk - several times.
