StuMesa Posted June 2, 2015 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Hey guys, so I have an 89 Comanche 4.0 with a 5 speed. stock rear and front axles. 6'5 rough country lift, prowelds with 30's. before I bought it I didn't notice the camber is slightly off, because the wheels were always turned. anyways it looks like it is getting worse, and my experience as far as a lift this high is very slim and with dealing with axles. on a facebook forum I asked what they thought the cause of the camber would be and almost everyone said my front axle is shot and need a replacement. the front doesn't have a camber kit of any sort so I'm thinking they are probly right, but does anyone have a different opinion on this or have a write up for how to rebuild the axle step by step? much thanks. if I need to upload some photos or any other info you guys might need to help me with this just let me know Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Megadan Posted June 3, 2015 Share Posted June 3, 2015 it depends on how bad the alignment is off. My camber is sitting at -0.8 Deg right now on each wheel. My wheel bearings are in good shape (no play, no noises). While my ball joints don't have any obvious signs of wear like clunks or other odd noises/driving funny, I would imagine that the most likely original ball joints are worn enough to throw my camber even out by 0.3 degrees (evenly on each side). I plan on replacing them this summer just for my own peace of mind, and to hopefully get my camber back below -0.5. If that doesn't work, I can only imagine my Dana 30 is every so slightly bent.
