20K!, what a joke.

While I agree that $20k is ridiculous, they are extremely rare.  That means they are really worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.  That's the odd reality of rare collector vehicles.  Seeing as it's not a factory original, that kind of detracts from the value in my eyes, at least in terms of being a collector vehicle.

Exactly. Its not original anymore witch detracts from its value. And that engine really is nothing special. The NA model made 85hp while the Turbo model only made 87hp. He kept getting mad at me on fb because I posted the specs on it while he kept saying "I'm a dumb kid (I wish I was younger again. Lol) who knows nothing about vehicles."

Well, obviously you know nothing... you own one.  ;)

If i remember right, the turbo on those things didn't really pump out that much pressure or have any different fueling from the non turbo.  The extra air from the turbo was mainly to try and clean it up.

I still want to do a VW 1.9TDi into my truck eventually...

Those TDi swaps are sweet. A buddy did one to his Wrangler. Only down side. The swap cost more than he paid for the Jeep. Lol.

As for not knowing engines, I was a fleet mechanic for eight years at night. I hold 5 ASE certs still and I have two college degrees in Automotive Engineering and Automotive Design. I used to build swamp buggies, mud boggers and dirt track racers. I help moderate and run two other tech forums with a few from here. Yeah, I think I got that guy beat.

I am not sure how a for sale ad for a vehicle that someone has no involvement in can offend someone to such a degree. It the seller gets it that is between the buyer and seller. It sounds like it may be personal?

EDIT: I just saw that the truck sold with a deposit received. The price must not have been too crazy.

I take it REAL personal when idiots attack me on other forums and groups for no reason. On another group, said idiot got po'ed because I posted spec sheets for his engine and transmission he knew nothing about. Then gets upset over the fact that said engine made less power than he thought. Cruiser and I think a lot alike, as in if you admit you don't know about something, we will give you what you need to help you learn. If you get butthurt because its not what you expected or wanted to hear, then that's on you.

IE: (I'm going to use you as an example, no offense) You live up north with more rocks and ledges than here. Now if I wanted to ask "Hey I want to try crawling or tight trails, what tires and armor would you recommend?" You would be best to ask as its your territory. Or if you wanted to cruise the swamps, you would look twords my opinion as its my territory.

This was the same situation, he came to a forum/group bragging of Duramax type power and a couple of us stated he only made 87hp. He got defensive and let the insults fly.

Hey Outlaw. U familiar w the name "Ozzy Freedom"?

The Texas conman?

He's an Isrelli (sp?) engineer responsible for the website "water4gas.com". He used to live in Tampa but now L.A. Didn't know your proximity to Tampa or if you'd even seen the site. VERY interesting read. Apologies for trying to hijack the thread!

I saw he got tried in TX, that's why I stated that, Tampa is directly across from me by about two and a half hours.

Been watching the website for a couple yrs or so. He's generating hydrogen on board and piping it into the intake iirc he's claiming like 30% increase in mileage and maybe 70% reduction of emissions. He's set up his system in series for tractor trailers even. Got generators running on hydro. Been dying to set one up just gotta get to THAT PLACE in my place. Have a look. I'm betting he's gotta be there still.
