Jackrabbit41
Should I get a non locking 4.10 for 325$ 2000 or get a limited slip 4.10 for 500$? I know that I could get them cheaper if I waited but I've been waiting and also, if I got a limited slip would I still want a locker? I think I might because my limited slip in my Dana 35 I don't really like. If I got that open 4.10 8.8 I would get a locker for sure. What should j do? Megadan
If you want to do a lunchbox locker, then go with the open diff. The real question is, when do you want to do the locker? If you plan on doing it later down the road, then the limited slip axle would at least give you that feature until you do said locker down the road. I need to get all the parts for a bigger lift and chromoly for my Dana

Incommando
The 8.8 lsd is a good one. Clutch type and rebuild able. I know more than one person who uses them off road with little issue. They are probably all you need most of the time unless you do a lot of rocks. However the open axle + a lunch box locker is about the price of the lsd version and is a true locker. So it comes down to: what do you want?

Megadan
The rebuild kits for the 8.8 trac Lok are also really cheap. You can buy completely new units with the carbon clutch packs for $250 from most mustang parts companies and Ford Racing.
