Bama slaughtered Missouri to win the SEC as expected.   Florida State up next against GA Tech. I'm hoping Tech can take care of State and send the Holes back home forever, but I think the crab stealer (below) has enough to scrape out another shallow win against the Yellowjackets. If this happens, it would be sweet if the national Championship game came down to Bama and the Holes. ROLL TIDE!

Buckeyes destroying the Badgers. #2 defense in the country.? No problem we will just punch up 45+ points. So they have the #1 rusher in the country with 408 yards in a single game a couple of weeks ago? Isn't that cute. 3rd string QB starting first game after taken over for the 2nd heisman contender lost this season and it is the league championship against the #13 team in the country? Just another day on the AstroTurf.

Tomorrow's selection meeting will be interesting. Some may be wishing for the BCS back. It may even be us.

You still can't mention Woody's name within 500' of the Clemson campus without violating a restraining order..

#5 OSU's 59-0 over #13 Wisconsin is IMHO more impressive then any other win today. TCU? Big Deal. I think the state champion in our biggest high school division could give Iowa State a game. #4 Florida St has been underwhelming and that includes the #4's 2 point win over 16th ranked but still ho hum Ga. Tech today. Baylor/ K-state? A good when for Baylor but not a dismantling. Again....tomorrow will be interesting.

Yeah, OSU had to make a statement and they did, BIG time piling it on. Typical Urban. It may (should) be enough to get them in. Of course I'm a Bama fan, but FSU has yet to lose. I'm old school, so they should be ranked #1. Tomorrow will certainly be interesting. But frankly, the only team I'm concerned about is FSU. Admittedly, I'm slightly concerned about OSU only because they have former SEC coach Urban who coached a group of thugs at Florida to two national championships. But Bama usually owned this guy, so no worries. No matter how it plays out in the new rankings this year's national champ will be an SEC team.  BAMA

I have never really had an issue with Alabama or Sabin until the Kiffin deal. Kiffin makes Myer look like a saint. Alabama's employment of him sort of takes away any moral high ground they had for casting stones at others. While I have longed condemned not just Florida's but the entire SEC's history of running up scores I don't know if it was unnecessary in this case as selection criteria is now entirely subjective. Who knows what will influence the committee? The head is already saying that they need to go to 8 teams asap to make it actually work.

Me too. I'm satisfied how the rankings came out; it's a whole new season now for the final four. Now we have to listen to the screamers who didn't make it........................  AAARRRGGGHHH.......................

Maybe they should expand the number of selections next year though. There's too much controversy picking the "best" four.

The only thing I don't like is the 3.5 week wait.  Might make sense for Bowl games but not a Championship playoff series.  Don't introduce an extra coaching element for how to keep momentum and intensity up over a long break.

8 would work for me. And an extra weekend of meaningful games to bring in ad revenue wouldn't hurt them either. That would cut back on that delay as well

Yes, eight teams I think would be ideal. It's very difficult to pick the "best" four teams when cases can be made easily for twice that number. Especially with a committee composed of almost twenty members with diverse experience and backgrounds. Condoleezza Rice?   :huh???:  What genius nominated her?  :shake:

The controversy is loud and obnoxious now because it's a brand new process for NCAA football. After being used to decades of antiquated Bowl games with an imaginary national champion, then the BCS selection which wasn't much better, it will take a few years to get used to this new scheme. Lots of controversy at first too when NCAA basketball started using a selection committee for their tournament. However blowing it up to 64 teams (+ wildcards) over the years is ridiculous overkill. I'd like to see 32 teams for the basketball tournament and 8 for football. Hopefully that's what will happen down the road.

144 b-ball teams are eligible for the NCAA tournament. 68 make it. Making that tournament is hardly an accomplishment when almost 50% of the teams do

Congrats to the OSU fans. Disappointed of course, but no excuses. OSU tonight beat Bama in offense, defense, and especially coaching. Good luck against the Ducks.

Yes, the Ducks are very tough. An excellent defense and Mariota is the real deal. He has all the tools, is soft spoken and of excellent character. The polar opposite of Jameis. The best thing that happened last night was to watch the FSU crab stealer melt down. What did he have, five turnovers all by himself? The Jameis and Jimbo comedy act is finally over.
