mpace6a
Haven't been on CC in a long while...lost interest in my 86 2.8 after the carb bit the dust in early may. Since then, I've been very, very slowly working on swapping a carb off of a 3.4l mercury outboard, that I got for free, onto the 2.hate. Fast forward to mid September, browsing craigslist for xjs and mjs like always, found a decent 96 5 spd xj for $1500. Looked at it, told the guy i'd be back Friday with cash for it. Couldn't get ahold of him, then suddenly that weekend I found a another 96 5spd for $100 in the same area...turns out his dad needed it for parts, stripped what he wanted, then decided he didn't want to bother scrapping the rest. So I picked it up with a good driveline and no doors or title. Was planning on putting the 4.0 in the mj...until this week, when I found ANOTHER 96 for $500 that needs lower end work in the motor. So now, I'm finally finishing the carb swap on the mj. Next, I'm putting the $100 engine into the $500 xj, rebuilding the $500 xjs engine once the xj is running enough to be my dd, then moving forward with a 4.0 swap in the mj. I think I have a jeep problem. Pics of my one-turned-into-three projects Maybe I should finally start some build threads to keep track of all this... mpace6a
Welcome back! Like your truck in your profile picture. Thanks. Probably the best picture thats ever been taken of the truck. can't see any pre-existing body damge, rust, blah blah. Its the same as in the first picture i posted, just put a better bumper on it and got rid of some chrome. The chrome and copper orange color just didnt look right together, imo
