SoCalComanche
i got my 87 MJ from my mother. i noticed the clutch master cylinder had been replaced. the dash lights and the fan motor do not work. i am thinking that at one time the clutch master cylinder may have leaked onto the inside and caused an issue with the fuse box. Does anyone have any advice for me to tell if this may be the problem. The tail lights work and i checked all of the fuses and they are not blown. Thanks for any help. joester1908
I had this same issue on my 88 Cherokee. There is a dash light fuse. It seems to me like if your fuse box shorted, it would just pop the fuses. The harness to the heater for us Renix guys are known for melting at the plug on the heater control. I believe the dash light fuse is a 5a. Id check that.
relyt120
You can usually tell if the fuse box is ruined by if the pins are backed out or your fuses are melted from the fluid.
SoCalComanche
i have pulled the fuses and they looked fine. No black color. i even cleaned the pins of the fuses to just be sure.

joester1908
Hmmmm I don't believe so. Did you put a volt meter on the light socket? I bought my '88 and it had no dash lights, I checked the fuses, looked for shorts, etc, but it ended up the bulbs were just burnt out...
