Found a 92 Comanche in a J.Y. today with a frame mounted trailer hitch like I have not seen before.  This hitch was bolted to the bottom of the frame rails like on the WJ.  Not to the bumper mount points like a normal Comanche.  Also the cross tube was rectangular rather than the normal square tubing.  Finally the receiver tube had been welded to the stock MJ bumper where it was normally bolted.

Unable to remove the hitch because the bolts were just spinning (nuts not holding in place in the frame tube.

Any thoughts on how I can get this off with hand tools in the Junk Yard?

I did get a straight tail gate off the truck.  I left a solid one piece rear window and a bench seat in the truck.  Did have a 5 speed attached to the 4.0.  Some Gray interior plastic and B pillar lights were left.  Bed is trash.

Also scored a windshield washer bottle and pump from a 97 Cherokee that will replace the leaking windshield washer on my 91 Comanche

Dave, Gas tanks are always removed before the cars hit the yard.  Gas is drained properly and tanks are scrapped before they hit the yard.

Battery powered Sawzall (reciprocating saw) to cut bolt heads off?  Some JY will let you take saw in while others will cut off it off for you.  I'd ask the JY yard guys to help you get it off.
