Got an 88 4.0 5speed. I was very happy with the power of my truck but I had an exhaust leak before the cat. I fixed the leak and now my my truck is a dog. If I punch the cat will it cause any problems with the truck? And what muffler will give me a good deep, throaty sound out of the straight 6?

Maybe your cat is plugged?

I'm thinking it is plugged because the truck sat 10 years with the exhaust open at both ends. And no engine
